Biography

Trudy Campbell was born in Philadelphia, the seventh of thirteen children.  She   remembes drawing since she was very young.  When she married and raised her family, she always felt a longing to return to the arts, and in 2007, she left a well-paid pharma career to explore painting and sculpture. 

She has taken Continuing Education Certificate courses at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA.  She has attended classes at Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill, and at the Wayne Art Center.

Trudy works mainly in oils, her favorite subjects are painting portraits or still lifes.  Recently she has discovered an interest in expressing her deep feeling for color through Abstract Art. She also creates sculpture from clay, and won an Honorable Mention at the Wayne Art Center juried show for Members in 2012.  In 2016, she was awarded one of 5 top prizes for her sculpture "Raku Portrait."

Her work has been accepted at juried shows at the Wayne Art Center and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  She belongs to the Delaware Valley Art League and has paintings accepted at their juried show.
